At the Auckland museum...

Using contemporary tools to examine original documents

In April 2016, the Shared Memories group from St Peter's College got permission to examine original documents held by the Auckland Museum archives from the soldiers on the Western front.
These included diaries and letters from both the soldiers and from their families back home.

The group found it a profoundly moving experience and we are very grateful to Jo Brookbanks and her colleagues for allowing us to do this.
