I just posted this on student notices and sent it to France for them to publish, just in time for la rentrée to get back into Active mode!
Hi students at St Margaret's College in Christchurch and Collège Étouvie in Amiens!
You know that our school takes part in the French - New Zealand history project "Shared Histoires" (Histoire partagée) which commemorates the centenary of World War I. In the context of this exciting 5 year project, a partnership between le collège Etouvie in Amiens and St. Margaret's College has been established, and the bilingual wiki "poppelicot" was created as a platform for the communication between the two schools. We use the wiki to present classes, exchange letters, share information and post films and pictures.
What we don't have is our own logo!
So get creative and come up with an idea which reflects the bicultural nature of the wiki and its name. "Poppelicot" is an amalgamation of the French and English words coquelicot + poppy. Got it?
Entries must be emailed to me in by the 19th September. Your entry must include
your logo (png, jpg or gif) a short paragraph in which you explain your logo, e.g. choice of pattern, colours, etc.Teachers and students from both schools will decide on the winning logo.
The winner will also get some chocolates from the both countries, sent all the way from the other end of the world to you!

Comme vous savez, nos écoles font partie du projet "Histoire Partagée". Dans le cadre de ce projet nous avons créé le wiki "poppelicot" comme plateforme technologique pour la communication entre nos établissements. Jusque là, nous l'avons utilié afin de poster des lettres, films, photos, commentaires, liens, etc.
Ce qui nous manque, c'est notre propre logo!
Alors: Développez une idée pour un logo qui reflète le cadre historique, le charactère bi-culturel ainsi que le nom du wiki. "Poppelicot" est une combinaison des mots "poppy" et "coquelicot".
Envoyez votre design par email sous form the png, jpg ou jif jusqu'au 19 septembre 2014 au plus tard. Il doit être accompagné par un court texte expliquant le choix de votre design (couleurs, motif, etc)
Enseignants et étudiants des deux établissement décideront du gagnant.
Le logo gagnant sera affiché sur le site du Shared Histories.com et au wiki. Il sera utilisé dorénavant comme notre logo officiel.
N'oublions pas de souligner que le gagnant recevra aussi des chocolats des deux pays, envoyés de l'autre bout du monde!
